Annual Friends of Manual Breakfast - A great success!

Picture

The Friends of Manual invited alumni, community members, parents, and students as we honor Mayor Michael B. Hancock and the revolutionary scholars and supporters of Manual High School.

This free annual breakfast shows your support of the Manual High School community, current students, and future Thunderbolts to come. This year's event raised over $27,500 for Manual High School.

Showcase Manual Reception

Picture
For years Jim McNally has served as Friends of Manual Board of Directors Historian and collected items of memorabilia from the school. These were kept in a locked room and few people had access to them.

Jim wanted to create a permanent exhibit that would showcase the history of Manual. This exhibit would instill pride and sense of connection in current students, and frankly, put the alumni exhibits of the other original DPS high schools to shame.

Vernon Jones, Jr., Vice Principal of Manual High School said “it has captured interest of many current students. They enjoy looking at the rich history and seeing how far MHS has come.”

With the help of some generous donors and the tireless work of Jim, fellow historian Marge Taniwaki and others, we have our own Showcase Manual. Marge has now completed the process of digitizing the materials for Manual Alumni to see around the world! CD's are now on sale! Email Al for details!
